Donors & Partners

Our ability to keep on carrying out ecological and sociological research, monitoring, and training is made possible by our donors and partners whom we work with very closely. Below are some of the partner organisations that support ITFC's work.

Uganda Wildlife Authority

The Uganda Wildlife Authority is one of the governing bodies that regulate wildlife conservation in Uganda. As the governing body for wildlife conservation, ITFC works with UWA in research, monitoring, training and policy implementation by providing valuable research based input.

National Forestry Authority

The National Forest Authority is a body of the Ugandan central government that is responsible for managing the country's Central Forest Reserves. NFA is a major conservation partner in research, monitoring, training and implementation of conservation practice.

International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED)

IIED is a policy and action research organisation based in London, UK but has operations all over the world. IIED promotes sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. IIED has sponsored many ITFC activities especially in the social sciences research area for many years.

MacArthur Foundation

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has supported ITFC's monitoring activities, as well as workshops for coordinating these in the region, since 2005. The most recent grant started in January 2009 and was focused on emerging threats to conservation values of the Albertine Rift (climate change, population growth, etc.)
